The ceiling to floor glass doors allow for non-disruptive views of the gorgeous tropical gardens and pool. The one - bedroom apartment is surprisingly huge. 100 square meters to be exact. The bedroom boasts a four poster contemporary style bed with plush hotel bedding for blissful sleeps.  The kitchen comes fully kitted with stainless steel appliances. There is a lovely study to work out of although there are many surfaces to put a tablet or lap top on. There are a number of outlets to plug electronic gadgets to. We have given careful thought to business travelers! D126 Simba is located in the well established Simba apartment complex!


Diani beach is absolutely pristine hence making it one of the top beach destinations in Africa. White sands, parallel coral reefs and palm fringed beaches are what one can expect when visiting Diani. The beach town is well developed with five star resorts, restaurants, bars and tour companies. With daily flights to and from Ukunda airstrip the town is very accessible.

Diani has a few shopping centers to choose from

Diani Shopping Center is a couple blocks left of Simba apartment complex. There is a fruit and veggie stand at the far left of the building with organic produce and freshly squeezed juices. Muthaiga mini market has been around for many years and has been supported by residents. It is a medium sized grocery store. Diani beach art gallery is on the top left and is highly recommended if you are an art collector. They have on display one of the finest art selections in Kenya. Kikoy.com is a store that sells lovely clothing made out of kikoy. Glory car rental agency is also located here.

Nakumatt Diani is at the Ukunda – Diani T – junction. It is the equivalent of UKs Tesco’s.

Baharini Plaza is couple of blocks right of Simba. It houses Chandarana supermarket that sells fabulous cheeses and wines. DM Tours can also be found here. They offer various safari packages.

Shreejis is next to Baharini Plaza. It has the most gorgeous selection of fruits and veggies.





Kokkos is an urban coffee shop that is quite popular. They sell delicious pastries and the best coffees on the beach.

Havana is a colorful Cuban inspired restaurant. There are pretty decent Mexican dishes on its menu.

Ali Barbour’s Cave is a must. The venue is unparalleled.

Forty Thieves Beach Bar is right on the beach and the ideal spot to have a light lunch.

Nomad Beach Bar is known for its Italian food including pizzas. It has the most fabulous views of the ocean.

Aniellos’ is a roadside Italian restaurant. It serves authentic Italian food.

Bidi Badu Beach Bar is known for its seafood although due to its popularity be prepared to wait for a while.

Lymingtons is at Kenyaways Kite Village. Consistent food, service and not to mention the fabulous views is why we highly recommend this place. It is a favorite with the expats living on the beach.

Sails is at Almanara and has the reputation of having the best food on the Kenyan coast.

There is a lovely Sushi restaurant in the same building as Kokkos.





Forty Thieves is where you can dip your feet in the sand. Enjoy a dawa (Kenyan version of Capriosca) here.

Bidi Badu Beach Bar is colorful and definitely has character. It has expanded in a hap hazard manner since it started but we still do recommend it. A mixture of people frequents this spot.

Swahili Beach Bar is beautiful and although a little bit pricy well worth going to.

Lymingtons on the beach is the local watering hole.  This is a great place to meet expats. The ever friendly owner Dave will probably be there to meet and show you your table.

Nomad Beach Bar has lovely outside seating to enjoy a few cocktails.





Sand and Sea is a water sports center at 40 Thieves. Kayaks & snorkeling equipment can be hired here. Also on offer are kite surfing lessons.

Diani Marine has a dive center. Various diving packages are offered including PADI certification.

Leopard beach has a fabulous spa.

Swahili beach resort has a lovely little gym and spa.

Kinondo Kaya is a cultural forest that can be toured.

Tiwi river sunsets at the Kongo mosque are an absolute must.

Avid golfers will be pleased to know that Leisure lodge golf course is only a ten-minute drive away.





Pili Pipa dhow trip is highly popular. They offer snorkeling or diving at Kisite Marine park followed by a scrumptious seafood lunch on Wasini Island.

Shimba Hills National Park  is only a forty-five-minute drive away. It has the rare sable antelope, elephants and even leopard.
